Originating from a strong track record in complex cross-border sports transactions with key involvement in landmark deals such as European football club acquisitions, NBA ownership entry, LaLiga broadcast rights structuring, our founding team developed robust capabilities in international deal structuring, regulatory navigation, and ecosystem-level resource integration. This early foundation established our proficiency in coordinating multinational stakeholders and managing high-stakes, end-to-end transactions.
Building on this foundation, we expanded from sports into broader strategic industries—including new energy vehicles, intelligent manufacturing, low-altitude mobility, and green energy.

Dr. Hong Xiaoli, founder of Sunway Law, is a cross-border legal expert with over 20 years of experience in M&A, securities, and complex restructuring. She has advised national funds, leading private equity firms, and industry frontrunners on capital structuring, governance, and international expansion—particularly in fast-growing sectors such as NEVs, smart manufacturing, and advanced materials.She also maintains a strategic partnership with China EV100, a leading NEV-focused think tank in China that convenes policymakers and industry leaders in China’s NEV ecosystem, supporting efforts to connect China’s NEV strengths with global markets through joint initiatives., strengthening global connectivity to China’s industrial and supply-chain ecosystem.
Dr. Hong is additionally recognized for her work in the global sports industry, having led outbound transactions involving European football clubs, NBA shareholdings, and other major sports assets. Her portfolio further extends to cultural and creative projects, including national-level stage IP initiatives and cross-border cultural collaborations.
She holds a Doctorate in Management from ISTEC Paris and an LL.M. in Civil and Commercial Law from Anhui University. She serves as a legislative expert advisor for the Shanghai Municipal People’s Congress, a visiting law professor, and a certified M&A and compliance professional, Dr. Hong plays a key role across multiple industry and research platforms—reinforcing Sunway Law’s position as a trusted gateway linking policy, industry, and global partners.
